"I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all of your help with our recent Fly with the 'Y' membership promotional. From everything I gathered from the branches, the staff and the members had a great deal of fun with it.

The program provided the Sarasota family YMCA with a promotion that has proven to be the single largest membership solicitation in our history short of opening up the Evalyn Sadlier Jones Branch in 1994. As an association, we brought in 539 new membership units between December 26, 2000 and January 31, 2001. It was a huge success.

Above and beyond the new membership sales, it also provided us with an incentive to get our current members involved in being advocates for the YMCA. Our ongoing 'member get a member' program usually has about 15-20 referrals per month. Using the Fly with the 'Y' promotional we had over 100 referrals during the campaign.

By looking at these numbers I am sure you will agree that this program was a huge success. I want to thank you for the quick turn around in certificates that we needed more than occasionally and your support before, during, and after the event. The popularity of the program has allowed us to even use the certificates as incentives for annual fund raising and general support and congratulations to staff and volunteers for jobs well done when such occurrence warrants it.

Our Executive Group has discussed the program in great detail and will certainly be doing it again in the near future, probably at a time that historically has not been a strong sales period. Again thank you for turning us on to the program."
